Ebon Seraphim Sanguinary Guard

Decided to do something a little different with my sang guard for my blood angels successors. I have always seen the BA as been Greek and decided to really go with that vibe for these guys. The 2 units are currently a work in progress but the initial one has been finished to give me an idea of what I want to do colour wise before I bash the other 9 out.

Here's the first finished Sanguinary Guard:
The head's chain glaives and shields are all from anvil miniatures.

Wraith Court of the Young King

When I first started playing Eldar in 3rd ed using the Biel Tann list I had a unit of 5 Wraith guard using the old wraith ghost models all painted as a different aspect from the army with my Wraithlord being the big daddy fire dragon. So with the release of the new plastic Wraith Guard/Blades I had the idea to revisit it. This time with better base models to work with, much more experience and a mind that isnt a 12 year olds.

The fluff concept would be: What happens if the spirit stones in an Exarch's suit if the suit is beyond repair and they are placed in a wraith body.

So the first step was how to make them noticeably their aspect. First step is weapons, after that I thought about how each aspect has a helm modification, the banshees have the amplifiers, the scorpions have the mandiblasters, the fire dragons have the crests, and how to incorporate those into the heads of the wraith bodies. The last idea was the poses. Eldar Exarches have been in the game for years and the poses have become quite iconic, especially the 3rd ed versions for me at least. So I would try mimic those classic poses as best I could with the wraith bodies.

Dark Reaper:
Dark reapers are my personal favourite aspect so this was the first one I thought about. Pose would be based on the 3rd ed reaper exarch with the helm vanes and the tabard worn by the normal reapers from that generation. For a weapon, the vehicle EML would do nicely. All topped off by using the colour scheme from my own dark reaper squads.

Striking Scorpion:
Helm: Mandiblasters made from shur. pistols
Weapons : Claw based on the spawn crab claw, chainsword made from ghost sword with teeth from 3rd ed D.Eldar warrior box add-on spikes
Pose:  3rd Ed exarch

Fire Dragon:
Helm: Crest
Weapons: Probably a vehicle bright lance to keep with the tank hunting purpose or D-scythe to keep with the flamer
Pose: Current Exarch

Howling Banshee:
Helm: Amplifiers for the mask
Weapons: Pair of ghost swords as mirror blades or an executioner
Pose: 3rd ed exarch or current exarch depending on weapons

Swooping Hawk:
Helm: Beak style mouth grill, will probably add pegasus wings as well.
Weapons: Vehicle bright lance and ghost sword.
Pose: Barroth

Warp Spider;
Helm: Mandibles probably from the Dire avenger back vanes or possible the generator carpace as the nod to their armour
Weapons: power blades and under arm mounted modified star cannons due to the similar shape.
Pose: 3rd ed Exarch as a base but try do something a little less static.

Dire Avenger:
Helm: Horse hair crest, no idea how to do that due to how the wraith head goes on and its shape
Weapons: Ghost sword and 2 wrist mounted Shuriken catapults
Pose: Asurman

No idea how I would do the other 2/3 aspects but some better ideas may come to me.

Nexus of Shadows

Created the blog as a place to keep all my project ideas so they aren't forgotten before the come to fruition and as a general hobby blog. Will be posting WIP and completed stuff as well as thoughts lists and plans for whatever I am working on at the minute.
